Three is already arguably the best network for global roaming, and it’s just got better by scrapping roaming charges in 11 more locations outside Europe.
Highlights include Costa Rica, Chile and Colombia, but you’ll also now be able to roam at no extra cost in El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Uruguay, Vietnam and Mayotte.
That brings the total number of destinations you can roam free in on Three’s Feel At Home service up to 71, which means 82% of customers’ overseas trips are now included.
All UK networks are required by law to let you roam across the EU at no extra cost, but few let you roam any further than that without paying extra, and Three began its Feel At Home service long before that law came into effect, and it’s committed to continue offering widespread free roaming even once we leave the EU, which other networks might not.
The service is set to continue improving too, as Dave Dyson, Chief Executive at Three, said: “My ambition is to free our customers and offer 100% roaming worldwide at no extra cost and we will continue to abolish unfair roaming charges until we achieve this.
We’re passionate about improving our customers’ experience when travelling abroad, so they can stay connected and use their phones just as they do at home. To reassure our customers, we have also committed to maintain the availability of roaming in the EU at no additional cost following Brexit.”
Popular locations such as the US, Australia and New Zealand are already covered by Feel At Home and Three reports that 4.6 million Brits have benefited from the service this year alone, using an average of 750MB of data per trip.
It’s worth noting that you do need an Advanced Plan to make use of Feel At Home outside Europe, but these also include various other extras, such as tethering and the ability to stream content without it coming out of your data allowance through Go Binge, so they’re good value.
